Elsewhere: Diamond February 2014 Charts

Diamond has released their full February 2014 numbers, and the sales estimates derived from them are showing up at the usual places.

John Jackson Miller has the most comprehensive list over at ComiChron, including the full Top 400 Comics and Top 300 Graphic Novels, plus a few lower items pulled from the charts of the smaller publishers. He also has some commentary here.

ICV2 has the Graphic Novel Top 300 and the Comics Top 300 and commentary.

John Mayo has the charts and some commentary at CBR

Overall a quiet month, down a bit, but not more than you'd expect in a February with no big debuts and Marvel's big event for the season delayed because of a writer change. On the Graphic Novel side, Marvel was doing a bunch of fire-sale liquidations on some older books again, in particular this time their black and white ESSENTIAL line (39 entries) and the smaller (but not quite digest sized) books they tried for a while and confusingly labelled "Graphic Novel Trade Paperbacks" (at least 37 entries).  That mass of backlist listings served to squeeze out most of the backlist listings from other publishers, other than the usual suspects, and even quite a few new releases.

I'll have more observations from the charts over the next week.
